Gabriell Bri Melchert, LCPC
In-office visits: Woodstock
My therapeutic approach:
- When we are met exactly where we are without judgment, we can find safety–maybe for the time. We learn, we’ve always had the answers for healing within us and are able to rediscover our true, authentic selves. In therapy I help orient you to safety, and provide gentle challenges to look closely at the emotional blocks within you, preventing you from accessing your true self.
- Play and fun are important parts of life. Many of us can lose touch with the spontaneous, expressive, creative aspects of our being. One of my goals as a counselor is to integrate play into our work to disinhibit these parts and allow for more access to joy and optimism in your life.
- Life can present tough circumstances, my aim as a therapist is to allow you to discover your inner resilience and reframe hardships into possibilities.
Gabrielle (Bri) Melchert is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) practicing in IL. Bri graduated with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Roosevelt University and has experience working in varied settings, including both out-patient and community environments, with clients of all ages and need levels.
Bri is a motivated therapist who meets her clients where they are, and encourages them to look deeper into their feelings, to assist them in discovering themselves, and to listen to their mind, body, and spirit. Her passion is to help others discover their strengths, and focus on the positive moments around them, to encourage personal growth.
We all face various obstacles in our lives, and Bri utilizes CBT, play therapy, mindfulness practices, and trauma-informed modalities to explore how each person processes the events they go through. Bri has experience with working with individuals on learning how to cope and manage their emotions, assisting with transitions, anxiety, and those that are feeling overwhelmed.
