My Therapeutic Approach

  • I am passionate about creating a safe space for you to process in the presence of warmth and acceptance. Together, we choose the kinds of therapy that will match your needs. We will build trust between us at your own pace, as our work often includes mending relationships, grieving a loss, or expressing complex feelings.
  • Mindfulness, trauma, and cultural competence form the basis of my approach in which I work with a variety of mental health concerns and kinds of people. I believe in everyone’s capacity for resilience and use a “beginner’s mind” where expectations are removed and an open mind is encouraged to get to know my clients with close listening and genuine curiosity.

Christina works with a variety of clients in all stages of life from children to elders and couples. She is currently pursuing an MA in Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University, which gives her a nonjudgmental, open-minded approach to counseling. She has worked in an intensive outpatient setting with kids and adults experiencing different stages of life and transitions. Her creative interests first led her to receive an MFA degree in poetry which she has taught at the college-level for ten years. This mix of meditation training and art therapy allows for a balance of curiosity and experimentation (or play) to find what modality works best for each client.
